Police Scotland was called to a one-vehicle collision near to King Edward parish church just before 8:30 pm on Sunday night.
Aberdeenshire Council Highways Department has planned a week of traffic chaos in the Turriff, Banff and Foggie areas as a pre-Christmas gift to local residents and commuters.
The A947 is scheduled to be closed between Don Bridge to Fountain Equestrian Centre from 8 pm on Friday until 6 am on Monday. The 35 Inverness to Aberdeen bus service will also be affected.

The busy A947 is being closed for resurfacing work between Birkenhills and Lower Woodtown this weekend. The diversion routes are Northbound Diversion via A947, B992, B9001, B9024 Southbound Diversion via B9170 to New Deer and Oldmeldrum
There has been a two vehicle accident on the unclassified road between the B9105 and the Delgaty road near to the entrance for Delgatie Castle. Four people are believed to be injured, one seriously.
