Police are appealing for information following a break-in to a shipping container and the attempted theft of three quad bikes on a farm near to the Glens of Foundland, Huntly. Three suspects were captured on CCTV driving a grey Nissan X-Trail and using an angle grinder to cut padlocks to the container. The incident happened at around 7 pm on Wednesday 4th August 2021.

Crime Reduction Officer PC Mike Urquhart said

I would urge those in our rural communities to always park quad bikes as close to your premises as possible, preferably out of sight from nearby roads and remember to always remove keys when not in use. Consider fitting wheel clamps and/or locking posts or consider an alarm. Mark or customise your property so it is easily identifiable. This can deter thieves and assist recovery if they are stolen. Consider tracking devices for high-value vehicles and machinery and keep a record of all vehicles with photographs and serial numbers.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting reference PS-20210806-3572 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
