Residents in rural areas near Turriff are being asked to remain vigilant following reports of a light blue Land Rover type vehicle seen acting suspiciously. The occupants had a whippet type dog in the rear of the vehicle and were seen scanning the area using binoculars.
Hare coursing is the deliberate hunting of hares with dogs. This cruel and illegal activity has been banned in Scotland since 2002. Hare coursing is a criminal offence and permission of the landowner is irrelevant. Police Scotland urge those who live and work in our countryside to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
