Caroline’s family have issued the following statement through Police Scotland

We are devastated by the loss of Caroline who was so full of life, full of fun and much loved. She was a great friend to everyone who knew her and will be much missed.

The incident happened around 3.45pm on Saturday, 3 April, 2021, within a field off the A947 near Turriff and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened in consultation with the Health & Safety Executive.

Detective Inspector John Lumsden said

Our thoughts are very much with Caroline’s family at what is a very difficult time for all who knew her and officers are supporting her family.

There are no suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal

Lorna Paterson North-East Regional Manager for National Farmers Union Scotland described Ms Rennie’s death as a horrendously tragic situation.

Saying

On behalf of NFUS and our members, we express our huge sympathy and commiserations towards the Rennie family and Caroline’s wide circle of friends. Caroline was so well respected by those who knew her.

Her passion for our industry was second to none; she had such a bright future ahead and was a real entrepreneurial and dynamic female within the farming locality.

This horrendously tragic situation is just the cruelest of the cruelest and everyone in the farming arena is shocked. It is no secret that our agricultural industry is deemed to be a very dangerous sector, and our farmers and farm-workers face enormous challenges when working with machinery and livestock.

Our hearts and thoughts lie with Caroline’s family at this harrowingly sad time.

The tragic and untimely death of Caroline has been felt all across the community in Turriff and across the wider farming community.

The incident is still under investigation from Police Scotland and in consultation with the Health & Safety Executive.
