Aberdeenshire forgotten again by UK Government

Aberdeenshire forgotten again by UK Government as it plans to move 1000 jobs to Glasgow & East Kilbride

Commenting on recent announcements by the UK Government of Cabinet Office to move 500 jobs to Glasgow and a further 500 to East Kilbride, Scottish Labour candidate for Aberdeenshire East, Graeme Downie, has called on more to be done to bring jobs to the North East of Scotland.

He said

Whilst any jobs coming to Scotland is welcome, the UK Government is again prioritising the central belt rather than thinking more creatively and bringing these jobs to other parts of the country. We know that areas such as Aberdeenshire are often forgotten about by both London and Holyrood, with investment by-passing the area.

The reality is that Tories and the SNP are obsessed by the constitution, whilst Scottish Labour is focussed on issues like job opportunities for young people and investment to help us build the new industries of the future.
