David Duguid MP on the change to Protection Level 3

Published by Mike Rawlins

Speaking after the First Minister’s announcement that Aberdeenshire & Aberdeen City are going to be moving to Level 3 Protection on Friday, David Duguid, Scottish Conservative MP for Banff and Buchan, said

It is disappointing that Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City will be placed into tier 3 Covid restrictions just a week before Christmas.

Sadly, it is not surprising as cases have been rising and the recommendation from officials advising government had been for this to happen in each of the last three weeks.

My immediate concern is for businesses in Banff and Buchan, particularly those in the hospitality trade, that may have to close their doors again.

The Scottish Government has received billions in funding from the UK Government and financial support should be provided where it is needed.
