Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) is encouraging people to take a run around the beautiful Balmoral Estate next month and help raise funds for the life-saving service.

SCAA has places on both the 5k and 10k runs on Saturday, April 18, and is looking for sprightly supporters to join the SCAA team.

Registration in both races is free through SCAA for a minimum of £100 sponsorship raised.

SCAA mascot Scotty gets set for a right Royal run as he encourages supporters to join the SCAA team for next month’s Run Balmoral

In our first year, five runners raised £913 in sponsorship and last year 12 runners took up the cause for SCAA and raised a terrific £2,618 for the charity,

explained North East Community Fundraiser Kate Loades.

This year we would like to see even more supporters take to the track for SCAA and help support our life-saving service as we prepare to launch our second helicopter air ambulance at Aberdeen, which will operate alongside our existing helicopter based at Perth.

The 5k run will take people along a tarmac road enjoying superb views of the castle and the countryside while the 10k route heads upwards through wooded tracks affording even more glorious views around the castle and estate.

Anyone wanting to join the SCAA runners should contact the charity team on 0300-123-1111 or email fundraising@scaa.org.uk
