Turra Loos set to open

published on 12th November 2018 by Mike Rawlins Categories: Community, Turriff News #Tagged: High Street, Toilets

The High Street toilets are set to reopen on Tuesday 13 November.

The ‘Turra Loos’ are being run by the Turriff and District Heritage Society with the support of Let It Shine cleaners from Turriff.

Turriff & District Heritage Society have taken over running the Turriff High Street Toilets. The Heriatge Society will manage the money and the building, but the cleaning and the daily opening and closing is on a totally voluntary basis by Fiona Smith of Let it Shine.

Judith Mackie from Turriff and District Heritage Society said

Fiona has had two volunteers come forward to help her clean them but she needs more!

The people of Turriff were very vocal on the keyboards when the council were closing the toilets but for the toilets to stay open now we need an army of volunteers to help Fiona. No one can do that single-handed! I would be very grateful if you could put out a plea for the people of Turriff to give up a tiny bit of their time to help her. If we don’t get volunteers the toilets WILL close and it WILL be down to the people of Turriff and nothing to do with the council! They can contact her at s.fiona144@gmail.com or 07854 384975
