Bus users in Turriff should be aware that there will be significant changes to the 257 & 258 bus services in Turriff from 19 November.
Under proposals that came out in late October the 257 & 258 day time services would no longer be run by Stagecoach but by the council using their A2B service. What this means for bus users is that the service will no longer be run to a timetable nor will it be hail and ride. Users are being asked to plan their journies at least a day in advance and book their seat via the A2B service call centre.
Aberdeenshire Council has produced an indicative timetable which will be in place on 19 November, but they have pointed out that the route and timings will change based on user demand. For example, if there are no bookings for trips on the 257 from Knockie Road to Boggieshalloch Place, then the bus will not travel on that part of the route. The same goes for the 258 circular, if there are no pre-bookings from Cumminestown, Garmond & New Byth, then the bus will not go there.
It was also pointed out at the Bus Users Forum on Thursday 1 November, that if you have not pre-booked a trip and turn up at the bus stop, you may not be able to get on the bus.
Aberdeenshire Council are holding a short drop in session at the High Street car park on Wednesday 7 November between 10 & 12 when members of staff will be on hand to answer your questions.
