Poppy Appeal charity tins taken in Turriff

Published by Mike Rawlins

Police Scotland is appealing for information following the theft of four Poppy Appeal charity tins from shops at Turriff.

A number of tins were reported missing from separate stores on the High Street between Friday November 3, 2017, and Saturday 4.

PC Nathan Smith, who is investigating, said

We can’t be sure of the value of the money contained within each of the tins, however it’s not the point – it beggars belief that someone could be so cruel as to steal money from charity.

I would urge anyone who was in stores on the High Street during the dates in question and saw any suspicious behaviour to please get in touch. You can contact Police on 101 quoting ref. number 2205 of November 3, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 in confidence.
