Calling All Beauty Consultants – Look Good Feel Better needs your help

Published by Mike Rawlins

National cancer support charity, Look Good Feel Better, urgently needs beauty volunteers to help run their free skincare and make-up Masterclasses for women with cancer in Peterhead, Fraserburgh & Turrif

Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is the only cancer support charity providing practical support for women and teenagers struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment. Their confidence boosting skincare and make-up Workshops and Masterclasses are held all over the UK and help teach women vital skills such as how to draw on missing eyebrows and eyelashes.

Every Workshop and Masterclass is run by a team of beauty volunteers, who take the women through a specially designed skincare and make-up regime. The LGFB service provides beneficiaries with vitally needed advice and support in a lively and fun atmosphere as well as the opportunity to meet other women in a similar situation.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN NORTH ABERDEENSHIRE

LGFB are urgently looking for beauty trained volunteers to help run Masterclass sessions in Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Turiff. Without the help of more volunteers these sessions will no longer be able to run. If you or someone you know is trained in skincare and/or make-up and spare a few hours to help boost the confidence of women going through cancer treatment, then please call Melissa on 01372 747 500 or email Melissa@lgfb.co.uk or visit www.lookgoodfeelbetter.co.uk/volunteers

Losing hair can be tough enough to cope with but the loss of eyelashes and eyebrows and the skin related issues faced during treatment can prove debilitating. The aim is to improve the wellbeing and confidence of people undergoing treatment for any sort of cancer, helping to improve their self-image and appearance.

Look Good Feel Better was set up 22 years ago in the UK and annually supports around 17,500 women and teenagers through their Workshops and Masterclass plus thousands more through self- help materials.
