Two people charged after vandalism at Markethill Primary School

Police Scotland have confirmed that two people, a 14-year-old female and an 18-year-old male, have been charged in connection with an incident at Markethill Primary School, Turriff, which was reported to Police on November 20, 2016.

An estimated £20,000 of damage was caused to the school between 5.30pm on Friday, 18 November, and 5.20pm on Sunday, 20 November.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Sergeant George Nixon, investigating officer, said

I would like to thank the local community for all assistance and information provided during our investigation, and for your patience while necessary enquiries were carried out at the school.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
