Aberdeenshire Council will be removing the monthly planning surgeries from Towie House in the town from December.
According to Aberdeenshire Council the number of people using the planning surgeries has been in decline they started holding them.
The last staffed planning surgery will take place on Wednesday 7 December and from the beginning of January, the surgery will no longer be physically staffed. Members of the public will be able to go to Towie house and speak to a planner by phone.
If you don’t fancy a trip to Towie House just to use their phone, the planning service in Ellon can be contacted directly on 01358 726429 from 8.45am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
Members of the public wishing to meet with a planner are being encouraged to send an outline of what they wish to discuss to fo.planapps@Aberdeenshire.gov.uk where a planner will make arrangements to make contact and, if appropriate, arrange to meet.
The removal of the planning surgery is another blow to Turriff which has already lost its Registrar Services, which closed in December 2014. You have to wonder how much longer will Aberdeenshire Council have offices in Turriff.
