There are only 14 days left for owners of air weapons to apply for an Air Weapons Certificate in order to guarantee that the certificate will be issued by the 31 December this year.
The Air Weapons and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2015 comes fully into effect on 31 December 2016, after this date it will be an offence for anyone to own, purchase, use or acquire an air weapon without a certificate.
If you have an air weapon but do not wish to apply for an Air Weapon Certificate you will need to either sell or pass on your air weapon privately or you can surrender it to Police Scotland, Ellon & Inverurie police stations are able to accept air weapons for surrender.
