Aberdeenshire Council have confirmed that the public toilets at the Haughs are now open and available for public use.
In a statement Head of Property and Facilities Management Allan Whyte said
We’ve agreed to open the public toilets at The Haughs for the summer season to allow us to discuss possible longer term options for the facility with elected members and the community.
There are no guarantees that the toilets will open beyond the end of the season unless an alternative arrangement can be found and we’re keen to hear ideas from the community on possible solutions.
For the meantime, we hope this decision will address some of the immediate concerns raised locally.
Representatives from Turriff and District Community Council, the Turriff Show Committee, Turriff Caravan Park Ltd and local councillors will be meeting on Monday to start discussing options for the facilities to be kept open on a more long term basis.
