Police Scotland have confirmed that the driver killed in the road traffic collision on the B9001 Inverurie to Rothienorman road, near Daviot, was 28-year-old George Dow, from the Rothienorman area.
His family have released a brief statement through Police Scotland
As a family, we are devastated at the sudden and tragic loss of George. We would very much appreciate if we could be left to grieve in peace.
The collision happened at around 6:50pm on Saturday 17 October. The driver of the other vehicle, a 39-year-old woman, remains in hospital with serious injuries. The remaining occupants of that vehicle, a 39-year-old man, a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl have all been released from hospital having sustained minor injuries.
