After the success of the 2014 Fireworks Against Cancer event in aid of cancer charity UCAN, the spectacular is set to return this year on Saturday October 24th. gates open at 4.30 with the fireworks lifting off at 8 p.m.
Last year’s event attracted over 3,500 visitors from the region and with this year’s additional attractions the event is expected to raise even more funds for UCAN, the North East’s local Urological Cancer Charity. 100% of donations on the night go to UCAN, the charity who spearheaded the acquisition of the first robotic surgery machine in Scotland now based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
1 in 5 women and 1 in 3 men are diagnosed with urological cancers every year and UCAN provide valuable support for patients and their families dealing with this life threatening and debilitating disease.
This year the Fireworks are provided by supporters Fireworx Scotland, Masson-Glennie, Lovie Quarry Products & East Balthangie Caravan Park with contributions from Towns & Carnie.
The spectacular will be another complex display set to music in true son et lumiere style. To add to the spectacle and to entertain the crowds before & after, the Aberdeen Fire Spinners will be on hand with their exciting display of fire spinning and fire eating. Fair rides, good food, confectionery, charity bake off, high value tombola and toys and gifts will be available throughout the evening.
You can find out more about the event on the Fireworks Against Cancer Facebook page.
