Turriff friends the Purple Cobras, Craig Stronach, Jamie Robertson, James Murdoch and Rob Ritchie will start their climb of mount Kilimanjaro this Sunday 13 September.
The group of childhood friends hope to arrive at the summit of Kilimanjaro by Thursday morning, in time to see the sunrise. The group are making the climb to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.
Local MSP Alex Salmond said of the climb
As many of you may know, Alzheimer Scotland is a charity very close to my heart.
I know first-hand how important the charity is and how hard the people at Alzheimer Scotland work to help those living with Alzheimer’s. Craig, Jamie, James and Rob have set themselves an enormous challenge – quite literally. It’s great to see they have already surpassed their £12,000 target!
Good luck boys, you’re doing Turra proud!
The group had set themselves a target of £12,000 for the charity but have raised over £14,300 so far and people can still donate by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/PurpleCobrasClimbKili
