After the announcement that the last remaining care home in Turriff was to close its doors, the community have started a campaign to get Aberdeenshire Council to commit to keeping care facilities in the town.
When the Four Seasons Care Home closes its doors in a few weeks time, there will be no care facilities left in Turriff. The closest care homes being Banff & Huntly, if they have space. The community feel that with an ageing population in the town, new houses planned under the local development plan, that it is imperative that care facilities are maintained in the town.
Joyce Thompson who is leading the campaign group said,
We have 500 signatures on paper and around 200 on our online petition at change.org which started a week ago.
Anyone who hasn’t yet signed the petition on-line can do so by visiting https://www.change.org/p/aberdeenshire-council-try-to-keep-a-care-home-in-turriff

With the recent closure of another care home in Turriff, it would seem to me that there is a strong business case for provision of a viable care home in Turriff.
