There was a good response to the Table Top sale which took place at the Turriff Town House on the High Street on Saturday 18th October 2014. This is the second such event which has been arranged. Organiser Helen Dean has always thought it could be a runner, and a potential fund raiser for the facility.
The idea is rather like a car boot sale. That is anyone can take a table, which is supplied by TTHA, and dispose their surplus possessions to willing buyers and hopefully make a few bob. The great advantage over a car boot sale is that the participants, buyer and sellers, are not troubled by the weather. It so happened that when Helen thought of the idea she wanted it to take place on the date of the Farmers Market, i.e. on the third Saturday of the month. This was agreed by the TTHA committee which earned over £100 for its charitable funds.
The committee are now of a mind to try to make this a regular event, again using the 3rd Saturday of the month. Already a number of potential “Table-Toppers” have booked a table for the 22nd of November. Anyone interested can contact 01888 563212.
Turriff Town House will be holding a Hallow’een Party on the 31st October 2014, and quite a number of children and their mums and dads are looking forward to that. More details on the Turriff Town House Association website.
On Thursday 30th the Annual General Meeting of TTHA takes place. This has been well advertised the organisers hope that there will be plenty of interest. Everyone is welcome. More information along with the agenda, business plan and constitution can be found on the TTHA website.
