I watched the STV Independence debate last night, I finally caught up with it all at about 11 O’clock thanks to the STV iPlayer crashing at the start, rubbish hotel WiFi and the debate not being screened on ITV.
As an undecided voter I’m no clearer now than I was at the start. I was expecting Alex Salmond to walk the debate but I felt he stumbled quite a lot, he has probably done more damage to the Yes campaign than he did to bolster it.
I don’t think Alistair Darling was much better either, there were no eureka moments for me where it all became clear as to the way forward.
In my opinion the Yes campaign need to come out and very clearly state what currency will we use after a yes vote in the referendum in September, that will probably get them more support than the playground style debate I saw last night.
What did you think of the debate, did it change the way you are thinking of voting at all? For me I’ll probably not vote because I don’t have enough information to make a proper decision and that makes me very sad.
