At 8pm tonight the independence debate steps up a gear with First Minister Alex Salmond going head to head with the head of the Better Together campaign, Alistair Darling in a live 2 hour debate.
The debate is only being shown in Scotland on STV, viewers south of the border or elsewhere in the world will however be able to register on the STV website to watch the debate on-line. The usual requirement of having to use a Scottish postcode to register has been lifted for one night. Viewers of ITV have Alan Titchmarsh presenting Love Your Garden, to look forward to.
The debate will not be shown by any other broadcaster but is expected to be covered in detail as news items on national and world news programs after 10pm.
STV’s political editor Bernard Ponsonby will be chairing the 2 hour long debate in front of an audience of 350 people, which will see Salmond & Darling answering questions from Ponsonby then members of the audience before cross examining each other on why Scotland is better as a part of the UK and why Scotland would be better as an independent nation.
The audience has been carefully selected to ensure that it has members that equally represent Yes, Better Together and undecided voters.
Whichever way you think the vote should go or if you are undecided, it is set to be an interesting and lively debate with two skilled but very different politicians.
