Turriff businessman Eric Rae met with First Minister Alex Salmond today at the annual Business in Parliament conference.
The Business in Parliament conference brings together politicians and senior representatives from businesses across Scotland during a two day event. Tackling the major issues that matter to Scottish businesses, this year’s event sought to address the challenge of maximising economic growth during a time of financial constraint.
Following his keynote speech to the Business in Parliament conference today, First Minister Alex Salmond met with Eric Rae owner of E Rae & Son electrical contractors.
Mr Rae is also Chair of the Banff and Buchan branch of the Federation of Small Businesses. The First Minister and Mr Rae discussed in depth the successes and opportunities created by the Scottish Government’s support for Modern Apprenticeships.
Mr Salmond commented
Business in Parliament provides the ideal opportunity for politicians and key players in business to engage over how best to grow Scotland’s economy and create jobs. I was delighted to welcome Eric Rae from Turriff and had the chance to discuss how we can seek to further strengthen support for business in Aberdeenshire East, and across Scotland more widely.
