North East MSP Christian Allard met students from Turriff to congratulate them on winning awards in the annual SCARF School Calendar Competition on Thursday 14 November.
Primary 4 pupil Charlie George of Auchterless School and primary 2 pupil Alex Muir of Easterfield School were both winners.
Each entry had to promote energy efficiency or demonstrate climate change awareness and twelve winning designs were picked to represent each of the twelve months of the year. Alex’s design was picked for April while Charlie’s was picked for May.
French-born Mr Allard said
Charlie and Alex have produced some fantastic designs which really show they know and care a lot about energy efficiency.
I am delighted that school children have this opportunity to showcase their artistic talent while at the same time learning more about green energy. Congratulations to Charlie and Alex for their brilliant designs.
The SNP MSP was pleased to see SCARF continuing to engage with young people about energy efficiency saying
SCARF is a fantastic social enterprise based in the North East and it is great to see that they are continuing to engage with young people through this competition.
