The Forestry Commission are reporting the theft of a gate from Delgaty Woods.
The 12 foot long, metal, 7 bar Ashcombe gate, similar to the one pictured below, was fitted at Cons Quarry when the path was upgraded 2 months ago. At 12 feet long, whoever took the gate must have had a large van or trailer.
District Supervisor for the Forestry Commission John Allison said
The gate was installed in at Cons Quarry on the Ardin side of the wood adjacent to the new path upgrade which was completed 2 months ago. The padlock and chain used to secure the gate were intact which means it was taken by someone who has an Forestry Commission key in their possession. If anyone has seen anything suspicious they can contact the local police and let them know.
If you saw anything suspicious in the area recently or have any information about the theft please contact the police at Turriff station or call 101
