B9121 Turriff to Alvah Road closed for two weeks

published on 30th August 2017 by Mike Rawlins Categories: Traffic and Travel, Turriff News #Tagged: B9121

Aberdeenshire Council has had to carry out an emergency closure of Linhead Bridge on the B9121 Turriff to Alvah Road.

Heavy rain last week caused structural damage to foundations of the old masonry arch bridge. The foundations have been undermined to the extent that the bridge is no longer safe for traffic.

Aberdeenshire Council is now seeking the necessary approvals to carry out work in the watercourse and complete repairs to secure the bridge to ensure that crossing is safe and secure for the future.
